We’re what happens when glitter hooks up with grit in a dive bar bathroom. If glam rock, burlesque, punk, grunge, and 80s hair metal had a chaotic, fabulous love child — that’s us. Each piece is designed to make you feel armoured, ready to face the world with confidence and daring rock-star energy.

Every outfit, accessory, or jewellery piece is meant to be worn, celebrated, and lived in — not hidden away.

Our clothing and jewellery are handmade in our small studio in Vancouver, often from recycled or reimagined materials. Sustainability is core to the brand: fabrics are reclaimed, upcycled, or eco-friendly wherever possible, giving every piece a history and a narrative.

GRIT&GLITTER was born the moment Amber stitched her first outfit and sold it — and realized she couldn’t stop creating. What started as a passion for sewing, styling, and self-expression has grown into a Vancouver-based, British-born alternative fashion brand that’s unapologetically bold, rebellious, and expressive.

Amber’s journey in fashion has been anything but ordinary. Taught to sew by her stylish and creative mother, inspired by her entrepreneurial father, and trained in garment construction and editorial makeup, Amber has modeled, performed, assisted high-profile makeup artists and worked behind the scenes in London’s vibrant fashion industry.

When she moved to Vancouver, she learnt pattern drafting, graphic design, and garment design, blending hands-on skill with fearless creativity.

Amber doesn’t just design clothing — she creates full top-to-toe visions. Drawing from her background in makeup, hair, and styling, every piece is conceived as part of a complete look: the outfit, the makeup, the hair, the nails, the attitude. Her work is about crafting fully realized moments where everything clicks together, so when someone wears her designs, they don’t just put on an outfit — they step into a whole identity.

Greasy Dart is a multidisciplinary artist experimenting primarily in fine art portraiture. With high impact colors driving his intuitive aesthetic, Greasy builds each artistic endeavour on a foundation of collaboration and body neutrality, allowing him to authentically uplift the queer and sex work communities through photography, styling, and nail artistry.

When he's not busy being the iconic fashion photographer of Vancouver, you can find him running G&G's social media, setting up incredible collaborations and directing our photoshoots!
